I wonder if anybody out there knows how far down in resolution it is possible to go using MALDI MSI. My interest would be to study tissue sections of normal and pathologic human tissue. Does the technology allow resolution down to single cells? Can it be taken even further down – to localize the presence of molecules inside of individual cells – and even in organelles?

With the latest advancements in the instrumentation, it is now possible to use the resolution of upto 10µm.
