With 4700 Explorer (and 4700Img30.msi) running in Windows, would an output file from 4700 Img v3.0 be suitable for direct import into BioMap 3.6.3 being run in a Linux (Redhat Enterprise) environment?
If this transition between operating systems is manageable, we are interested in running BioMap on a cluster. We have talked with RSI and found they provide a solution for IDL on multiple processors (running Redhat Enterprise). How might we utilize multi-cpu processing with BioMap?
We have BioMap running under Linux on a dual-processor workstation and it works well with data from the 4700. The mayor bottleneck we found is RAM size and disk access speed.
