We are required to have Sophos virus scan software on every computer. We have found that MMSIT stops acquiring data when Sophos scans for viruses. We are no longer permitted to change the frequency of virus scans. (Sophos is currently set for a scan every 60 minutes.) We tried to acquire an image file when the MALDI computer was off line. We got an image but the *.t2m file was not written. Is there a way around this problem?
The MMSIT keeps the image file open during the acquisition. We tested it with multiple virus scanners and did not observe this problem. It is the old problems with the IT security guys. They make your equipment so secure that you can’t use it any longer. Either they can fix it for you or they have to refund you for the now useless equipment…
