ModeratorThis error was not reported before. Please check that you have no active processing method. Also, the imaging software needs to run on the actual instrument computer.

ModeratorWelcome the field of MS imaging. While most of us apply commercial instruments for our experiments, it still takes some learning before we can obtain good results. The required skill can be learned either directly from the instrument manufactures (most of them have application chemists familiar with imaging) or through a visit to a dedicated academic imaging lab.

ModeratorI tool this issue up with the authors and they will answer – let’s give them some time to gather the information …

ModeratorThis is an issue which needs to be addressed by the vendor (MDS Analytical Technologies). The script is a first (and appreciated) solution to make QSTAR data available for BioMap, but it’s far from being optimal… I count on MDS to improve their imaging support.

ModeratorWith BioMap, you can export single spectra as text files but not whole datasets. In this forum you’ll find all the information needed to build a small Visual Basic script (e.g. in Microsoft Excel) to export the data as text or to import it into Excel. Alternatively, if you have a license for IDLDE you may directly access the BioMap data and use the built-in export functions of IDL.
Would you be willing to publish you finished script in this forum?

ModeratorBiomap is not a commercial product and therefore not all the efforts were made to allow a simple installation. It is important that all the installation steps are followed carefully. The file licenserc needs to be created by you; with the information you obtained by email. Search this forum for ‘licenserc’ and you will find additional information.

ModeratorAll right, if you don’t need the data we’ll just leave it at that. Thanks for giving us feedback.

ModeratorAn image with the dimensions of 57 x 51 x 3201 would result in a file with the size of 18610614 Bytes or 17.7485 MBytes. We had some problems with importing files but version 3.7.5.4 should have taken care of that. Could you send the files to me or provide a location where I can download them? That would help us to localize the problem but also to improve BioMap.

ModeratorDoes the image file size match with the calculated size (x time y times d times 2)? Does the file name contain any special character?

ModeratorIf you select the mean (not mean with BC) value over the whole mass range, you’ll end up with an image containing the mean value for each pixel. Your intensities will be low, but you can rescale the image and redefine the range (menu tools-intensity) so that you have a scale ranging from 0 to 1.

ModeratorMinor revision, solving error 102/103 when importing MSI files

ModeratorI made some modifications to the file – please download the latest BioMap version again and try it. If it does not work, get a local IT guru to your desk and he/she should be able to install the software within minutes. Please let us know if it worked for you.
